B58 Silicone Inlet Pipe (Intake Resonator Delete)

The factory B58 turbo inlet has a resonator built in to quiet the intake. It also makes the air take a less direct path to the turbo. This silicone inlet pipe replaces it with a smooth, open pipe. The turbo gets cleaner airflow, and you hear it spool.

It's the cheapest bolt-on we sell that you'll feel and hear on the first drive. It's also the part we put on our own cars first.

What you get from it

• Faster spool. Less turbulent air into the compressor helps the turbo build boost sooner.
• Lower wastegate duty cycle. Expect about 1–3% lower WGDC. The turbo works less to make the same boost, which is easier on it over time.
• More turbo sound. You'll hear spool and the blow-off more clearly, without a drone at cruise.
• Looks the part. Silicone in a color that shows when you open the hood.

G30, X3 and X5 owners, please read

The G30 5 Series has an extra air-baffling system that other B58 cars don't. The pipe does fit a G30, and it makes a noticeable difference. It can also set an air-leak code if the car isn't tuned for it. Some owners tune the code out.

We haven't confirmed fitment on the X3 or X5. If you have one of these cars, email sales@b58racing.com before ordering.

Install

• Tools: basic hand tools. No cutting.
• Tune: no tune is required on F-series and Supra/M340i. A tune is strongly recommended on a G30 (see above).

• ProRam drop-in air filter (Gen 2), or the RamAir 3.5" cone filter (Gen 1)

FAQ

Do I need a tune? Not on F-series, Supra or M340i cars. On a G30 you may get an air-leak code without one.

Will it throw a check-engine light? Not on the cars listed under Fits in our experience. G30s are the exception.

Is it louder inside the car? You'll hear more turbo spool under throttle. It's quiet at cruise.
